Booklover's Burlesque is the world's sexiest literary salon which matches titillating, inspiring, and empowering book readings with burlesque, boylesque, and draglesque performances all in one show!

Professional readers, actors, and/or local authors & writers read aloud a three to five minute piece of poetry, fiction (from any genre), memoir, non-fiction, etc, which is then followed by a burlesque performance inspired by the piece.

Follies is Portland's only physical comedy showcase. Created and hosted by International Italian performer Stefano Iaboni, whose influences include Andy Kaufman and Monty Python. Follies says "ciao" to traditional stand-up and improv and instead highlights the richly diverse, artistic and hilarious world of physical comedy, variety and sketch comedy.

Expect to see Stefano performing alongside a fresh line-up of talent each month as "Follies" brings together a wide range of local and imported artistic talent every fourth Saturday of the month.

Emily Newton -

Emily June Newton is an international multi-skilled comedic performer specializing in the areas of clown, physical comedy and character creation. Newton creates and performs eccentric characters that live in direct contact and interaction with an audience. Having had many years experience of MC-ing, stand up comedy, cabaret and clown, her work reflects an on going interest in exploring the boundaries between performer and audience via comedy. Summer Olsson - 

Summer Olsson is a performer, designer, and writer. She loves to make things. She also loves a great story, a complicated character, or a funny wig. She is one half of the clown group Duo Doppio, and co-producer of the annual Beady Little Eyes Puppet Slam. Summer’s home base is in Portland OR.. 

Sara James - 

Sara James is a multifaceted aerial burlesque dancer driven by fluidity and musicality. Her individual style has been described as liquid, alluring, and powerful. Sara brings a contemporary freshness to her classic burlesque acts. Drawn to the glitz, glamor, and sensual empowerment, she is proficient at morphing from an Old Hollywood beauty to a fiendishly sexy beast, sometimes in the same act!

Produced and hosted by Natasha Riot, Burlynomicon is a darkly decadent monthly showcase of performance held every second Tuesday of the month in the incredibly rare expanse of The Coffin Club. Venture into the dark speakeasy that features a monthly rotating cast of cabaret and performance art talent from Portland and beyond, where performers present art with a eerie and humorous twist.

Advance tickets are highly recommended, as capacity is larger, but still limited! This show WILL sell out!

Join us for the 1st Annual INTERNATIONAL BOOKLOVER'S BURLESQUE FESTIVAL! Our event is a one-of-a-kind sensual literary weekend celebration of two uniquely different, open-themed BOOKLOVER'S BURLESQUE shows that highlight a mix of ANY & ALL GENRES of the written word matched with burlesque, boylesque, and draglesque artists chosen from around the country and the world!

Our History:

BOOKLOVER'S BURLESQUE, produced by Lacy Knightly/ Nick Lacy of Lacy Productions, is the world's sexiest literary salon which matches titillating, inspiring, and/or empowering book readings with burlesque, boylesque, or draglesque performances. Professional readers, actors, or authors read aloud a piece of writing from any genre and are then followed by a burlesque, boylesque, or draglesque performance inspired by the piece in aesthetic, feel, emotion, character, plot, etc.

Since early 2016, we have produced quarterly shows highlighting genres such as gothic literature, science fiction, erotica, fantasy, fairy tales, mysteries, classic literature, and more. We strive to raise up both the literary and the performing arts, empower others as well as entertain through the written word and a bit of tease, support and promote books, literacy, and burlesque, and be open, diverse, and inclusive to all in a safe, welcoming environment.
